Evidence kept
Manufacturer manuals for factual specifications; detailed owner reports that describe the station, installation, time owned, comparisons, measurements, failures, and repairs; independent technical testing when available.
Evidence rejected or reduced
Affiliate pages, sponsored placements, free-product promotions, copied descriptions, anonymous one-line praise or complaints, unverifiable claims, and review text that appears templated or mass-generated.
Honest limitation
No screening method can prove that every surviving Internet review was written by a person. Summaries are therefore labeled as an evidence-weighted synthesis—not a scientific test or a guarantee.
Coverage rule: the catalog aims to include a well-regarded commercial wire, vertical, directional, loop/portable, base, or mobile choice wherever that type is practical for the selected band. It does not invent a recommendation where a common, well-supported commercial example cannot be found.
Price rule: the updater checks only preapproved manufacturer and established amateur-radio retailer pages. “Could not verify” may mean a seller blocked automated access; it does not prove the antenna is discontinued.
